The Parade of Nations and Multicultural Festival is the area’s annual celebration of its ethnic and cultural diversity. The event begins with a fun and high-profile parade featuring traditional cultural dress by parade participants representing over 60 countries, followed by a daylong festival with a series of events including entertainment, traditional crafts, and 20 + international/ethnic cuisines to sample from many of the nations/cultures represented.
PARADE: 11:00 a.m.
FESTIVAL: 12:00 -3:00 p.m.
The festivities are a community tradition in the Keweenaw and the event has become the largest regional event each autumn. Now in its 29th year, Hancock and Houghton will host more than 3,000 visitors who come to watch the parade and enjoy the extraordinary international cuisine and entertainment at the historic Dee Stadium, where professional hockey was born.
Food and crafts are for sale at nominal prices.
